Giving birth on TV

Is it just me, or over the last few years has their been an explosion of shows like One Born Every Minute? I'm not usually one for day time telly (it's usually kids TV through the day if the telly is on) but today I have a house full of poorly, sleeping kids so I thought I'd flick through the Old Idiot Box. I've stumbled across Maternity Ward shortly followed by Desperate Midwives. And yes, I'm watching!

Now I'll be honest, I LOVE OBEM! I've recorded the whole of the latest series and I am saving it for when I do get pregnant next (watching it any sooner than our planned TTC will have me flushing my pill by the 1st ad break). Can't help but wonder how I would feel if they came to our local maternity ward, if I was a mum-to-be about to give birth while they were hanging about with their cameras. Would I want to be on the show? It's no secret that I am an over-sharer, especially when it comes to TTC, pregnancy, and birth stories.... but there's a huge difference between writing a blog or posting in forums, and giving birth on national television.

Ok, there's a bit of me that would LOVE it! Maybe I should go and drop an email to Channel 4 now......
