I got a call from my Doc on Tuesday, not something I am used to getting at all. He called to tell me that he had my test results. And it turns out that I am NOT ameamic at all. In fact where a level of 12 is good, I'm at 13.2 or 13.5 or something (I forgot what he said, just that is was very ggod and not anything to worry about at all. That's all I needed!), so I have very good blood! What I do have is a water infection...
Still, its not like I've never had one before - all those years of medication for one infection after another before my op when I was 13 means I am more than used to them! Normally I can spot one starting very early on, but with the pregnancy starting to make me not recognise my own body or some of it's functions I had no idea this time. I have some penacillin to take for the next few days. In a couple of weeks I have to take another tube of wee to the docs, and that should be that.
Doc was explaining how water infections are common in pregnanct women, although not this early on. He says this is most likely to be because I have had kidney problems in the past so we'll have to keep a close eye on it as I will be more prone to them.
To me, it's just a good excuse to sup loads of cranberry juice, and have regular loo breaks while on the road for work! Ha ha!
